Minnesota won friday nights game 5 to 1 with Morneau hitting a home run and then the next night Minnesota won 7 to 1 and Kubel hit 2 home runs in the game. Then in todays game the Twins got a rally going but a double play killed the momentum and the final was 4 to 2. Next the Twins come home and start a series against Tampa Bay.
Vikings off to good start at Draft
In the past few years the Vikings have made a few mistakes in the draft but this year they seem to be off to a good start. With the 22 overall pick the Vikings picked Percy Harvin a wide reciever from Florida. Last year Harvin helped Florida win a National Championship. Then in the 2nd round the Vikings got Phil Loadholt who played for Oklahoma and played Florida in the National Championship game. In the 3rd round the Vikings got Asher Allen a cornerback from Georgia. Allen should be able to help the Vikings at the cornerback position. The Vikings next pick is in the 5th round unless they trade up or trade down.

Twins bats come alive against Angels
The Twins started a three game series against the Angels on friday and going into the series the Twins were struggling. They hadn't scored many runs and weren't getting many hits. Friday nights game seemed like the Twins hadn't got the bats going but then came the bottom of the 8th inning. Going into the inning the Twins were down 9 to 4. After a couple of hits and some walks the Twins were only down by two, then the Angels walked Justin Morneau to load the bases. Jason Kubel came up just a home run away for the cycle, then on the second pitch Kubel drilled the ball into the upper deck for a grand slam and completed the cycle. The home run put the Twins up 11 to 9 and that was the final score. Then Saturday nights was more of the same. The Twins bats continued to be hot. The Twins had a big fifth inning to get a comfortable lead then the reast of the game the Twins just padded their lead to win 9 to 2. Now they finish up the series today with a game starting at 1 pm.

Twins come from behind for 1st win
Last night the Minnesota Twins played the Seattle Mariners in the second game in the series and the second game of the year. At first it seemed like Seattle was going to get a big lead in the 1st inning but Nick Blackburn was able to work out of a jam and only give up one run. In the 3rd and 4th innings though Seattle got 3 more runs and were out to a 4 to 0 lead. Then in the 5th the Twins finally got on the scoreboard and put up 3 runs to make it a one run game. But then in the 9th Seattle scored another run and I thought that was it but the Twins didn't give up and in the bottom of the 9th they came back. At first it looked as they weren't going to make it getting 2 straight outs but then the rally started and they filled the bases. Then the Twins got one run but were still down one until Alexi Casilla came up to bat and one the first pitch he hits the ball back up the middle and drove in the winning run. The final was 6 to 5 with the Twins winning and picking up their first win of the year.

Michigan St upsets UConn
Saturday night Michigan St played UConn in the first game of the final four. This was the first time since 2000 that Michigan St has made it to the championship game which they won in 2000. UConn was expected to control the tempo of the game and come away with a win but that didn't happen. Michigan St controlled the tempo of the game from the start and never gave UConn a chance to play at their speed. Kalin Lucas was the leading scorer for Michigan and had the most points in the game. Now Michigan St gets to watch the Villanova, North Carolina game to see who they will play on monday for the championship.
Jay Cutler becomes Vikings rival
On friday the Denver Broncos traded Jay Cutler to the Chicago Bears a division rival of the Vikings. The Bears gave up a lot to get Cutler though, they gave up 2 first round picks a third round pick and Kyle Orton. Earlier the Vikings were after Cutler but then they picked up Sage Rosenfels. Since they got Rosenfels they didn't need to look for a quarterback but with Cutler being traded showed if we waited long enough we might have been able to get him. The worst part of the whole thing is he went to one of the Vikings division rivals.
